The 'New Chardonnay'.
Flagship grape of Slovenia, also referred to as Gialla when grown in Italy.
Oddly, this is a white wine in a red wine shaped bottle. Golden colour from grapes being fermented on the skin for 16-hours.
Aged in French oak barrels and then in the bottle for 6-months.
Deffo a new grape and country to try - you won't be disappointed if you like an oaky chardonnay.
